Who We Are

MODPAC works to positively impact the direction of our nation, our individual states and our local communities through outreach, recruiting, training, education, advocacy and activism.

We are a federal non-connected political action committee working to engage the 100+ million Millennial and Gen Z voters in the US.

Our goal is to unite conservatives around five key principles while promoting social tolerance and inclusion within the Republican Party.

Our five key principles are taken from the Republican Creed and include:

Five Key Principals:

1. That the free enterprise system is the most productive supplier of human needs and economic justice;

2. That all individuals are entitled to equal rights, justice, and opportunities and should assume their responsibilities as citizens in a free society;

3. That fiscal responsibility and budgetary restraints must be exercised at all levels of government;

4. That the Federal Government must preserve individual liberty by observing Constitutional limitations; and

5. That peace is best preserved through a strong national defense.

Why MODPAC

What We Do

  • We work to engage Millennials and Gen Z voters through social events and festivals (i.e. Pride Fest);
  • We work to educate other Republicans on our mission by meeting with Party leaders and elected officials.  We also exhibit at political events (i.e. Republican Conventions, etc.);
  • We help sponsor best-in-class political leadership training for Millennials and Gen Z Republicans (i.e. Sorensen Institute, etc.);
  • We help Millennials and Gen Z Republicans get elected to key leadership positions within the party organization (i.e. City/County Committee, State Central and at the federal level); and
  • We help fund Young Republican and College Republican initiatives.

What Makes Us Different

  • To our knowledge, we are the only Republican organization working to change the dialogue and take the focus off the issues that divide conservatives (i.e. choice / life, gay rights / marriage, etc.) and turn the discussion to the five key principles above;
  • We are one of the few Republican organizations that openly embrace pro-choice supporters, members of the LGBTQIA community and people from all walks of life; and
  • Through our Code of Conduct Policy, we foster an open, inclusive and respectful environment. Varying opinions are accepted, and members are not attacked for their beliefs or level of political acumen.

Issues

A Modern Republican is concerned about many issues, but you won’t find the so-called “social issues” at the top of their priority list. The fact is that EVERY issue is an important issue. Here are the top issues important to a Modern Republican:

Our History

In 2013, five devoted Republican women had reached a tipping point with the Republican Party and its lack of effort to expand membership.

The GOP had become known as an organization for older, primarily white, and primarily male voters.

You would be warmly welcomed into Republican membership provided you met a very specific criteria and you agreed to openly support a rigid agenda that included pro-life, anti-gay positions.

Party leadership did not encourage women and minorities to take a prominent role – and they certainly weren’t encouraging them to run for elected office.

Members of the LGBTQ+ community most certainly were not welcome. They were seen as a threat to traditional Republican values.

Meanwhile, the Democrat Party was growing leaps and bounds, and the Socialist Party was gaining in popularity among younger voters.

Our five Founders knew that in order to be competitive and to grow the Republican Party, radical reform was needed.

They committed hundreds of hours to research and strategic planning, and they made a significant personal financial investment in getting the organization off the ground.

They sought advice from political consultants and also Maverick PAC (MAVPAC) – a federal Republican PAC working to engage young business professionals under the age of 40.

They met with MAVPAC founders US Senator Ted Cruz and Chad Sweet, who is also the co-founder of the Chertoff Group.  A special bond was formed between the two organizations, and to this day MODPAC and MAVPAC are strong allies with a shared vision to reform the Republican Party.

MODPAC was originally registered with the Federal Election Commission and the IRS as “Modern Republican Women.”

The name was later changed to “Modern Republicans” in order to be more inclusive and encourage everyone to join in the mission of reforming the Republican Party.

Millennials and Gen Zers are the politically unclaimed generations.

The Case For Social Tolerance

Millennials: Americans born between 1981 and 1996.
Gen Z “Gen Zers or Zoomers”: Americans born after 1996.

These two generations are 100+ million strong and account for roughly one-fourth of the voting age population—a voting block even larger than senior citizens.

They are more ethnically and racially diverse than previous generations. They’re less religious, and the most educated generation in American history.

They are also accepting of nontraditional families: single parent families, interracial couples, same sex couples, etc.

The Republican Party has failed to inspire these two key demographic groups to our side.

Why? Because Millennials and Gen Zers largely view Republicans as “out-of-touch” and “intolerant.”

This combined demographic is a sleeping giant with the power to revolutionize the political landscape. If the Republican Party is to be successful in future, radical reform is needed.

What if we could transform the Republican Party into a party that appeals to Millennials and Gen Zers?

Why not promote conservative ideas while embracing an attitude of social tolerance?

A Pew Research report seems to support our position:

  • 62% consider themselves to be socially liberal
  • 78% say the budget deficit and national debt are major concerns
  • 53% would vote for a socially “tolerant” / fiscally conservative candidate

We can attract Millennials and Gen Zers by becoming known as the party that puts viable solutions to America’s problems on the table, and it begins with the Modern Republicans Political Action Committee.

You can help us in our mission of leading the way for REAL reform. Please consider making a financial contribution. Every dollar helps, and any amount is appreciated!
